We are a well established, forward thinking and innovative GP practice based in Hackney.

We strive to offer an accessible, efficient and high-quality service for our patients and are proud to be a 5-Star Rated NHS Choice Practice.  

We offer free weekly Yoga, Fitness, Mindfulness, Tai Chi, Walking Clubs, First Aid and Antenatal Classes whch you can book here.

We are currently registering new patients and offer a same day registration service.

Hackney GP surgery ‘thrilled’ to be named among best in the country for fifth year running

The Hackney surgery was shortlisted for its dedication to improving healthcare in the Clinical Improvement: Public Health and Prevention category.

Dr Gopal Mehta, practice partner, said: “I am so thrilled for our team and exceptionally proud that we have yet again been chosen from among hundreds of hard-working practices across the country.”

It is the fifth year in a row that Richmond Road has appeared in the awards. Last year, the practice took home the prize for GP Team of the Year. It has also previously won Practice of the Year and been shortlisted for Reception Team of the Year.

Meet our Team

We are a partnership of 9 GPs . We employ 4 Associate GPs, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Physician Associates, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistant / Phlebotomists. We also teach young Trainee Doctors, many of whom plan a career in general practice.

The Reception Team look after patients, their appointments, prescriptions and all the stuff that flies around - a massive amount of administration involved in running a busy, large practice and this includes a backroom team of Workflow Administrators to handle the huge influx of correspondence and data each day.

Practice Information

Parking

There are a limited number of parking spaces at the surgery including dedicated spaces for blue badge holders. There are bus stops near the surgery and there is an area to secure bicycles.

Training

The practice is an established training practice offering teaching and training to doctors, medical students, nurses, paramedics and other health professionals. It has a culture of learning and has an excellent reputation for the level of teaching it provides.

Patient Group

Provision of good access to high quality patient care for the local population is at the heart of how the practice works. There is an active patient participation group (PPG) which helps to organise patient events on health related topics as well as providing feedback to the practice staff.

GP Patient Survey

The GP Patient Survey is an independent survey run by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England. The survey is sent out to over two million people across England. The results show how people feel about their GP practice.
